Maintenance Manager

Description:

Our client is a manufacturer of commercial and residential roofing products in North America. We are seeking a candidate who has proven management experience and leadership skills in an industrial manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to ensure that the maintenance is meeting the objectives in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.

Position:

The Maintenance Manager will directly report to the Plant Manager to develop and carry out objectives, solve problems, and be able to respond to short-term as well as long-term goals. The candidate will be responsible for the preventative maintenance programs, and provide technical support for troubleshooting, to minimize downtime and maximize process efficiency. Additionally, the Maintenance Manager will also lead and support continuous improvement processes through decision making, employee involvement, systems, and training.

Responsibilities and Attributes:

  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved.
  • Monitor the quality of craftwork and provide directions to crew members to maximize efficiency.
  • Oversee the running of the plant, report and assist with troubleshooting production issues and process improvement concerns.
  • Assign labor hours to the maintenance team.
  • Provide safety training to crew members.
  • Leading team development/performance management.
  • Responsible for managing parts inventory, ordering parts, data entry, and completing/generating reports.

Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years' managing maintenance in an industrial manufacturing plant and production or operations management.
  • 2 years' experience in leading improvement efforts in Reliability, Predictive and Preventive Maintenance, and Precision Maintenance
  • 2 years' experience utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or other similar problem-solving tools.
  • 2 years' experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities
  • Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to learn various PC-based production and maintenance reporting systems applications.
  • Able to read mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings
  • Analytical and field troubleshooting skills
  • Familiar with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM)
