Provides executive-level strategic leadership and management of department operations.
Oversees personnel issues; manages the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of all projects and services provided by the Tax Office.
Responsible for ensuring that property tax and motor vehicle operations are functioning optimally and in compliance according to policies, procedures, laws, and state statute.
As second in command, the Chief of Staff routinely represents the Tax Assessor-Collector and is called on to make critical decisions on their behalf.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:
TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher. Master's degree preferred.
TO APPLY, must have Nine (9) full-time years of related work experience (tax office or public administration experience preferred) including Five (5) years of managerial experience in a related work environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to articulate information and concepts, and motivate co-workers and others.
Highly effective interpersonal, training, negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills are preferred.
Chief of Staff is a detailed-oriented position responsible for working in a cooperative manner with the Tax Assessor-Collector and lead the team of directors and managers alongside the elected official.
