We are seeking a motivated HVAC Apprentice to join our residential service team her at Dr. Watts Electric, Heating & Air. In this role, you will work under the guidance of experienced HVAC technicians to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in homes. This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career in the HVAC industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior technicians with the installation, service, and repair of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units
Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from work sites
Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as filter changes, cleaning coils, and checking refrigerant levels
Help ensure work areas are clean and organized at all times
Follow all safety guidelines and protocols on job sites
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Attend ongoing training sessions to develop skills and stay current with industry standards
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an HVAC training program preferred
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in varying weather conditions
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to submit to background check and drug screening
