Position Summary:
The Learning & Development Content and Communications Specialist plays a critical role in creating visually engaging, informative, and brand-consistent materials to support employee training and development initiatives. This position is responsible for designing a wide range of digital and print content, including training materials, guides, job aids, flyers, infographics, workshop collateral, and handouts. Additionally, the Specialist will create, assemble, and distribute professional new hire welcome packets for all staff levels, including senior leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely. They must be adept at working independently, managing multiple projects, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Development & Design
- Create and design a variety of learning and training materials (e-learning assets, job aids, handouts, guides, flyers, workshop materials, etc.).
- Develop visually compelling infographics based on internal data, ensuring complex concepts are accessible to a wide range of audiences.
- Ensure all materials adhere to organizational branding, accessibility, and visual identity standards.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to develop digital assets, logos, and visuals as needed.
New Hire Experience
- Design and package welcome packets for all new hires, including customized versions for senior leadership.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure packets include accurate and up-to-date materials.
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
- Draft, proofread, and send professional email communications to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Ensure clarity, brevity, and professionalism in all written correspondence.
- Attend meetings to document and distribute detailed notes or minutes.
- Serve as a point of contact for assigned projects and take ownership to move initiatives forward independently.
Project Coordination
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met with high quality.
- Take initiative to lead assigned projects, working both independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Participate in planning and brainstorming sessions to align learning materials with department goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Instructional Design, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in content creation, digital design, or related roles, preferably in a corporate or learning & development environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Creative Suite tools.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an emphasis on professional tone and clarity.
- Experience in creating content that adheres to corporate branding guidelines.
- Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing logos or branding elements for internal initiatives.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles or instructional design methodologies.
- Experience with tools such as Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, or similar).
