Medical Staff Services Manager – Killeen, TX
AdventHealth Central Texas is hiring for a Medical Staff Manager. This role is responsible for the management of the medical staff office at AdventHealth Central Texas, including credentialing processes and liaison activities with medical staff leadership. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.
Overview
Location: 2201 S CLEAR CREEK RD, Killeen, 76549. Schedule: Full-time; Shift: 1 - Day; Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Community served includes Bell, Coryell and Lampasas counties. Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the medical staff office at AdventHealth Central Texas.
- Oversee the credentialing process for physician applications for appointment, reappointment and additional privileges; provide accurate information to medical staff leadership to assess competency and grant privileges.
- Ensure timely licensure, insurance and other items that expire regularly; maintain accurate credential files and compliance with regulatory agencies including Joint Commission.
- Create and maintain the hospital-wide call schedule.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of Joint Commission standards, Medical Staff Bylaws, and Rules & Regulations to guide physician issues; maintain the credentialing database.
- Research credentialing, privileging, Bylaws and Rules & Regulations issues to ensure clinically competent practitioners are presented to Credentials and Medical Executive Committees for approval.
- Coordinate appointment, reappointment and privileging processes for assigned hospital(s); provide monthly credentialing action updates to leadership following Board approval.
- Ensure physician and mid-level practitioner privileges are posted accurately for access by physicians, administration and hospital staff.
- Serve as liaison between the hospital and medical staff, providing service and information regarding privileges and administrative needs in a professional manner.
- Perform administrative duties as delegated by the chief of staff, medical staff officers and committee chairs, chief of surgery and chief of medicine.
- Glean information and research issues to minimize time officers spend on issues that can be handled at the medical staff office level.
- Prepare and record meetings of medical staff leadership; prepare agendas and documentation for Credentials, Medical Executive, General Staff and Bylaws Committee meetings; follow up on action items; record minutes.
- Prepare reports (e.g., Board of Directors bi-monthly report, Quality & Safety Board bi-monthly report) in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations; serve as a resource on issues pertaining to the Bylaws.
- Collect and verify information for additional privileges within approved criteria; document competency and formulate criteria when none exist, presenting to appropriate Medical Staff leaders.

Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or health care or 4 years of medical staff credentialing experience.
- Two supervisory experiences including training staff, hospital credentialing, and Medical Staff Office functions.
- Preferred qualifications: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS); Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM).
