PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To maintain floors in all schools by performing assigned duties personally or as a team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Propane certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
Ability to operate buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaners, automatic scrubbers, propane machine and waxing floors
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
Ability to work well with others
May be required to drive district vehicle
Must meet CCISD driver guidelines
Experience:
Related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Daily contact with custodian supervisor, if necessary, to get assignments.
2. Responsible for your assigned area of hall daily.
3. Prepare list of supplies needed for floors, to include propane purchase and give to head custodian and custodial supervisor.
4. Help set up or dissemble set ups when necessary and secure building.
5. Report all machine repairs to custodial supervisor.
6. Maintain all machines daily and follow specific guidelines for them.

Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, electric drill, shampooer, cleaning supplies, automatic scrubbers, propane machine

Mental Demands:
Reading and ability to understand verbal instructions and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Strenuous walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying. Work inside; exposed to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials, bodily wastes and fluids; and slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Ability to work independently.
