About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a growing mission-critical infrastructure team supporting large-scale facilities across Texas and the U.S. This role focuses on the testing, startup, and turnover of complex electrical systems for high-performance environments such as data centers, hospitals, and secure facilities.
You'll ensure that all power systems are installed, tested, and operating safely and efficiently - bridging the gap between design, construction, and operations. The ideal candidate thrives in field environments, enjoys problem-solving under pressure, and takes pride in delivering clean, validated systems that exceed customer expectations.
What You'll Do
Execute functional performance testing and start-up procedures for low and medium-voltage systems
Review and validate engineering documentation, test scripts, MOPs/SOPs, and redlines
Coordinate with construction teams, vendors, and OEM representatives during commissioning
Perform field inspections, troubleshoot issues, and ensure systems meet NFPA, NEC, and IEEE standards
Develop and execute test plans for systems such as switchgear, relays, UPS, ATS/STS, PDUs, and VFDs
Support system integration activities for controls (SCADA, PLC, EPMS, BMS)
Track non-conformance items, manage resolutions, and contribute to project closeout documentation
Provide hands-on technical support during testing windows, sometimes including off-shift or weekend work
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) with 7+ years of experience - OR
Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
Demonstrated background in mission-critical commissioning, electrical construction, or power systems testing
Working knowledge of low/medium-voltage systems, protective relays, switchgear, and load bank testing
Familiarity with industry standards: NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE, NETA
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and commissioning management software (InfraLink or similar)
Strong documentation, vendor coordination, and QA/QC experience
Willingness to travel for field projects and adjust to flexible schedules based on testing timelines
U.S. work authorization required (no visa sponsorship available)
