The Standardized Patient (SP) PRN consistently and accurately portrays a medical condition or disease. This includes the patient's history, physical findings, personality, and behavior in a non-punitive learning environment. S - Ps act as a patient, teacher, and evaluator. They offer learners a chance to practice repeatedly in a safe, controlled, and realistic atmosphere with nonjudgmental feedback. Essential Functions of the Role. Delivers accurately memorized case details in the predetermined manner. Evaluates learners on professionalism, physical examination, and communication skills in both formative and summative environments, including high-stakes examinations. Portrays realistic affects consistent with case specifications. Facilitates debriefs and provides collaborative verbal feedback to learners. Maintains professionalism and effective communication and interpersonal skills, while demonstrating flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments.
