Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an Operator Cut-Off Saw in our Pourline on 1st Shift foam manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the controlling, recording, and inspection of all buns produced by the pouring line in an efficient, safe, productive manner as established by a daily production schedule

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain daily communication with all employees on the Pourline, the supervisor, manager and technical manager during the pouring process. This position works in a chemical environment with exposure to chemicals and temperature changes.
Additional Responsibilities of the Pourline Operator Cut-Off Saw:

- Must prepare C2 samples and measure all slabs' physical dimensions.
- Must perform all job functions in a safe and efficient manner and have the ablility to multi-task during pouring production runs.
- Checks all conveyors, saws, saw belts, and conveyor eyes prior to pouring to make sure the process progresses without maintenance problems.
- Calibrates permeability machine.
- Labels all slabs with the proper computerized label prior to the slab being placed in the warehouse.
- Must change roll ups.
- Recharges forklift batteries and/or propane tanks as instructed.
- Responsible for the completion of all reporting of information required by the foam production report and distribution of copies to respective departments within the SAP system.
- Assists in the unloading of rail cars (TDI).
- Monitors the foam being produced for damage and report to Supervisor.
- Must transport trash and waste to designated area during non-production periods as designated by Management.
- Operates a forklift per all applicable laws and regulations in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Skills/ Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree required.
- 3 months of chemical experience preferred.
- One year of machine operating experience preferred.
- Must be able to use computerized equipment in day to day operations and have computer knowledge.

- Must be able to pass a pulmonary test on an annual basis.

Prerequisites:
- All Pouring Department new hires must pass an OSHA Emergency Response Team (ERT)
physical and complete all training requirements needed for active participation on the
plant Chemical Spill Response Team.
- Physical requirements and specific medical testing will be specified by the Company
Consulting Medical Director and subject to change based on the hazards of the position
and updated medical industry guidance.
- All new hires and transfer employees working directly with Isocyanates or Isocyanate
containing materials requiring respiratory protection, or any other hazardous materials
identified by the location hazard assessment must complete a baseline chest X-ray
prior to starting work.
- All Current Pouring Department employees must complete an annual OSHA ERT Physical
and all applicable annual training required for plant Chemical Spill Response Team
members. The inability to pass the OSHA ERT Physical due to prohibitive medical
conditions may result in the removal from Chemical Spill Team related duties, job
transfer or possible separation from the Company. Job transfers and removal from
positions that require working with and around hazardous chemicals will be made only
after consultation with the Company Consulting Medical Director.
- All Pouring Department employees on the Chemical Spill Response Team or required to
wear tight-fitting respirators as part of their normal job duties must be clean shaven
prior to starting work each day. Clean Shaven will be defined by the Company
Consulting Medical Director and/or third-party Medical Testing Company. Examples will
be provided in training and located in company policy documents.
