What Is An Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders need timely updates on their properties, and that's where our inspectors come in. The primary focus of these inspections is:
Most inspections are conducted externally, with approximately 10% requiring interior photographs only when the property has been vacated.
As a contractor, you'll be responsible for inspections within your designated county. In instances of high demand, you may share county responsibilities with another inspector.

Pay And Hours
This is a 1099 position where payment is based on a set fee per inspection. Rates vary according to county and inspection volume, typically allowing you to earn between $20-$30 per hour. Depending on your assigned county, you can expect to complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections monthly, dedicating 2-30 hours weekly. While lower-volume counties offer higher inspection rates, those with higher volume tend to have lower rates. There is no guaranteed number of inspections monthly, but consistent work is available every month.
As you prove yourself and adapt to the role, there's potential for increased earnings through greater availability or willingness to cover larger areas.
Please note that there is no additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
