We are seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Staff Hydrogeologist position. The position will involve field work which includes but is not limited to groundwater and surface water data collection, soil sampling, monitoring well and water supply well installation oversight, aquifer testing, and geophysical data collection and interpretation. Fieldwork is generally focused within Texas, with some out-of-town travel as needed. All project travel-related expenses are covered or reimbursed by the company. Office work will consist of report preparation assistance, field and laboratory data interpretation, maps, tables, and figures preparation, etc. The position will include opportunities to support water-supply well design projects, well field evaluation, environmental site assessments, and site remediation projects.

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid

Work Location: Office in Bertram, Texas (Austin area). Candidates should live in, or be willing to relocate to, the greater Austin area, preferably within one hour of Bertram. Office work can typically be performed remotely.

Education/Experience:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Geology or Related Field Required (Must be eligible to sit for ASBOG FG and/or PG Exam)
  • Relevant Hydrogeology Coursework
  • Geologist in Training (GIT) certification preferred
  • Entry to Jr. Level (0-4 yrs.) work experience in hydrogeology/environmental field

Technical Skills:

  • Oral and written communication skills
  • MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong analytical and technical background
  • Ability to interpret geophysical logs
  • Description and interpretation of drill bit cuttings and core
  • Preferred skills: some combination of ArcGIS/QGIS, Surfer, Python, Modflow, or AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with environmental agency regulations preferred (e.g., TCEQ, Railroad Commission, US EPA, groundwater conservation districts)

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Capable of safely traversing uneven terrain over short to moderate distances (10' – 1,000') while carrying samples and/or equipment
  • Will occasionally work long shifts, possibly at night, during data collection activities
  • Must be able to pass company physical
  • Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Must be legally authorized to work in US
