Construction Bookkeeper

Our busy construction company is seeking an organized problem-solver to join our team as our construction bookkeeper. Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience with full-charge bookkeeping in the construction industry. They will help our team ensure budgets, timelines, and job costs are accurate and oversee all financial transactions for the company, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation. Responsibilities:

• Reconciling real estate commissions like a pro
• Implement extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into accounting software
• Assure costs, timeline, and budget of construction projects are accurately forecasted, by providing detailed financial reporting to the general contractor or project manager
• Update and maintain accurate financial records, contracts, annual budgets, tax reports, and financial statements
• Oversee all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and manage the accounts payables and accounts receivables process
• Process invoices, checks, and payroll accurately and on time and resolve any invoice issues

Qualifications:

• 1 to 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• High level of professionalism
• Willing and able to embrace new technology, master it, and teach it to others
• Strong computer/tech skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Self-starter who is willing to take charge with little supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detailed oriented
• Positive, can-do attitude
• 5 years of experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in the construction industry
• Skilled in Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, such as QuickBooks
• Exceptional organization, analytical, problem solving, and communications skills are important
• A high school diploma is required - an associate's degree in accounting, or business, or related field is preferred
• Familiarity with construction accounting concepts, tax strategies, and best practices
