Summary

Bartender/Server provides outstanding beverage service to Mayborn Convention Center guests. Knowledge of food & alcohol products, methods of preparation, proper terminology, and proper service techniques are required. Responsible for inventory control of stock.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sells/serves food & alcoholic beverages according to TABC standards
• Accepts money and credit cards and balances cash draws daily
• Possess familiarity with menus and can explain ingredients and preparation of all items
• Welcomes guests/customers in a friendly, courteous manner at all times
• Interacts tactfully and professionally with the public and customers per Department Customer Service Standards
• Follows all City and Convention Center financial policies
• Cleans serving and bar areas and store equipment properly
• Assists Manager with pre-event and post-event inventories and other duties as assigned
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of experience providing similar food/beverage services

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in private clubs

Certifications and Licenses

• Valid driver's license
• Texas Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire
• TABC Certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire
