Description:

Overview SpaceX is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk to support the Rocket Development Facility in Texas. The role ensures incoming materials are received correctly, onsite inventory is accurate, and technicians and engineers have the parts they need to advance SpaceX mission goals.Responsibilities Receive, stock, and issue a wide variety of parts, materials, and hardware to support site operations manually or by using the vertical lift module (VLM)Store parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks while identifying parts and their storage locationsPick and prepare necessary kits of parts, materials, and hardware as required while ensuring all parts are available and accounted for in the kitMaintain strict material handling practices according to established proceduresMonitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stockRecord transactions in company computer systems according to proceduresPerform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracyPerform good housekeeping, safety, and 5S practices in the areaSupport organization goals, metrics, and objectivesComplete the daily activity sheetAssemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containersRoute items to appropriate departmentsMay operate a forklift or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to storage or work areaFind new ways, site-wide, to streamline processesCommunicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepanciesUse the electronic material requirements planning (MRP) system to route parts and components to the proper departmentsPerform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient and effective work environmentBasic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency certificate1+ years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain position with receiving, precision, mechanical, or metrological inspection experiencePreferred Skills and Experience Experience in a large manufacturing facility2+ years of forklift operations experienceKnowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and functionsExperience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fieldsExperience detecting design and drawing flawsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Y14.5Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and use of metrology tools and gaugesProficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPointAbility to work effectively in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to jump into ill-defined problems or processes and drive positive outcomesSelf-starter attitude, energy, and the ability to communicate effectively across many cross-functional disciplinesAdditional Requirements Must be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is requiredTypically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments such as heat, cold, and rainRequires physical effort, including standing, lifting, and carrying light to moderately heavy materials or equipmentMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassistedValid driver's licenseTravel up to 20% of the time may be requiredTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of StateSpaceX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
